Agenda

Wythnos yma, bydd 2 berson o Gaerdydd sy’n datblygu prosiectau er mwyn adrodd storiau’r gymuned trwy ffotograffiaeth yn ymuno â ni ・ This week we’re joined by 2 Cardiff-based people each developing projects which tell the story of communities through photography.

Nelly Ating
Myfyrwr sy’n astudio yn Ysgol Newyddiaduriaeth, y Cyfryngau a Diwylliant ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd yw Nelly Ating. Mae hi’n ffotonewyddiadurwr sydd wedi adrodd o rheng flaen ardaloedd lle mae gwrthdaro’n digwydd yn Nigeria. Mae hi’n defnyddio ffotograffiaeth i ddarlunio’r storiau y mae hi’n ceisio adrodd, sydd wedi ennill perthnasedd cynyddol ym mharu ffigyrau gyda tystiolaeth gwirioneddol. Mi fydd ei thrafodaeth hi’n ffocysi ar ddogfennu gwrthdaro fel newyddiadurwr benywaidd, a’r rôl o ffotograffiaeth gwleidyddol sy’n dod i’r amlwg.
Nelly Ating is currently studying in the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University. She is an independent photojournalist who has reported from the front lines of conflict zones in Nigeria. She uses photography to enhance storytelling, as a genre, which has gained increasing relevance in matching figures with actual proof. Her talk will focus on documenting conflict as a female reporter and the emerging role of political photography.

Prateeksha Pathak
Mae Prateeksha Pathak yn myfyrwr ymchwil ôl-raddedig ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Mae ei gwaith yn olrhain rôl cof materol ac arteffactau wrth adrodd straeon ffoaduriaid a chymunedau wedi’u dadleoli. Ynghyd â’i ymchwil, mae’n rhedeg KasmhirUntold, sef sefydliad dielw er mwyn cefnogi’r cymunedau a recordio’u storiau mewn archif digidol.
Prateeksha Pathak is a postgraduate research student at Cardiff University. Her work traces the role of material memory and artefacts in narrating the stories of refugees and displaced communities. Along with her research, she runs a non-profit KasmhirUntold to support the communities and record their stories in a digital archive.
